Guard your torrents with TorGuard!

“TorGuard” is a concantenation of “tor”, as in “torrent”, and “guard” as in… “guard”. In other words, in addition to the VPN package, they offer a streamlined one specifically geared to downloading torrents. They keep NO logs (they’re based in Panama). The only information they keep is a name and billing address (for obvious reasons) on a completely different system with no way to connect it to system users. In their own words on the FAQ page:

We don’t share any information with anyone regarding our network or its users and won’t even consider communicating with a 3rd party unless they’ve first obtained adequate representation within our legal jurisdiction. Only in the event of an official court ordered ruling would we be forced to hand over blank hard drives. There’s nothing to hand over but an operating system. ( No Logs)

TorGuard VPN supports 5 simultaneous connections

Also rather unusual is that each VPN package comes with five connections instead of the typical one or two. Considering torguard boasts port speeds of over a Gigabyte (meaning your download can run anywhere from 5mbps to 30mpbs or even higher depending, naturally, on your own connection and ping rate), that’s a lot of bandwidth available to everyone in your family.

Currently, torrents are not allowed on servers in the following countries:

USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain

Servers in the following countries do allow torrents:

Canada, Egypt, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey

TorGuard VPN Pricing

Torguard’s AnonymousVPN has three term packages available: one-month ($9.95USD), three-month ($19.95USD), and one year ($59.95USD). The Anonymous BitTorrent packages are $5.95USD, $14.95USD, and $46.95USD. Payment is done through a totally separate system and can be made by: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, OKPay, PayPal, Visa, PayPal, and even Bitcoins. A unique option is the pre-paid PIN system available through the website. They also have a conditional 30-day money-back guarantee: if you do not exceed 10GB within the first 30 days and you’re unhappy with the service, they’ll refund your money “no questions asked”.

All in all, Torguard looks like a tight, clean, secure VPN option.
